Recognition for experiential knowledge and recovery-oriented support

Green Recovery Space is the winner of the KEES Award 2026. This award is presented to initiatives that place experiential knowledge at the center and contribute to recovery and mental health.

The KEES Award (Quality Mark Award for Experiential Knowledge, Experiential Expertise, and System Correction) was established to highlight how experiential knowledge and lived experience can contribute to change within health and social care.

The award emphasizes that this type of knowledge is still too often undervalued, while it has the potential to make systems more humane, inclusive, and just.

The KEES Award is an initiative of the Amsterdam Network of Experiential Knowledge.

This recognition is an important milestone for Green Recovery Space and for the trained peer experts who will play a central role within the recovery space.

The fact that an organization from Curaçao has won this award underscores the importance of person-centered and recovery-oriented support, also within the Caribbean region.

Green Recovery Space aims not only to make a difference on Curaçao, but also to inspire other Caribbean islands in developing similar recovery spaces and mental health initiatives.
